"I got the Toshiba Satellite® M505-S4940 about a month ago after reading the reviews online. I have enjoyed it ever since, the fingerprints notwithstanding. I would have love it more though if it has a fingerprint reader so my log-in could be faster, if the monitor could travel a few more degrees outwards and if the mouse pad is slightly wider without increase in overall size. I will recommend the product to anyone who loves clean, simple, beautiful and durable machine. The battery life is quite good."

"The Toshiba laptop had the features I wanted at a competitive price, and I trust the quality of Toshiba products. A plus is that this laptop is equipped with Harman/Kardon speakers. The attractive styling of the case was a factor in my decision."

"I have owned this laptop for a couple of months now and have enjoyed it immensely. My only two complaints would be the quality of the camera and the fingerprints that get left on the keyboard. Other than that, it's a great machine!"

"Things started out well. I found it very easy to install printer, updates, etc. upon purchase. Then, when just a month old, it had a major hard drive failure. Toshiba graciously sent recovery discs (VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE BACKUP UPON PURCHASE ASAP!!), but it is just not the same, right down to the desktop. Can't afford to trash it and buy another, so we'll just have to live with it. Very frustrating and totally disappointed. Considering the constant improvements in technology, the quality of the product doesn't seem to be there!"

"I love the laptop, finally bought one after procrastinating for so long. I love the keys and the screen is so clear. The only negative I found so far is it gets a little hot, but not enough to be a showstopper."

"I bought a dell with my college savings before my freshman year. i had no viruses or no problems with it...until 1 week before starting this year (my senior year)...i heard a clicking noise. yep, it was the harddrive. i searched all sorts of laptop brands but i liked 2 different toshibas in the store...however, i ended up buying this one online after reading the reviews and looking at toshibas on consumer reports. i also asked my tech-savy friends and they alll told me to get a toshiba....so i did!"

DID NOT RECEIVE THE PAYED FOR LAPTOP, September 30, 2009

"went to best buy on sunday 6pm only to be told where out of stock and the the m505 which was an advertised special in the circular that broke that day was out of stock.Was told one would be in on tuesday, but was not allowed topay for on sunday so i returned to the store the next day on monday morning and payed for it.I was then told to come back to pick it up on wednesday afternoon.I returned on wednesday afternoon, handed the assistant store manager my receipt where it plainly stated first line after best buy and store # the model# and serial # of the purchased laptop. I patiently waited for about (35min.) for the assistant store manager to return, literally shove it at the customer service cashier along with the other purchase (dvd-vcrplayer) i was also purchaseing and walk away (done in a very unprofessional manner).My Wife (Nancy) informed after extensive research on the internet that we had been given a different and lesser computor which did not have as many or as good of features and retailed for less after further review i discvered that this should and could of been easly discovered by the Best Buy assistant store manager if he had done his job properly (simply compared the model and serial number on the box for the computor to what was listed in big bold letters on the receipt).I took the laptop in question back only to be treated rude by the very young customer service cashier who's first words to me were i would have to take the computor to the geek squad counter to veryify nothing was missing. I insructed the cashier to call management.The cashier did so with obvious negetive physical communication. The operations manager came over and i began to inform him of the situation.THe assistant store manager walked by and the operation manager apprised him that he had given me the incorrect laptop.The assistant manager took the receipt walked behind the customer service counter and finally compared the receipt model number and serial number to what was on the laptop box of the one i was given.He then got what would best be described as a red face smurk. The assistantant manager then walked down the counter whispered in the right ear of a tall young geek squad employee with black hair,slender with a unique hair style.The geek squad employee begain to laugh half heartedly and with a red face. It looked to me as if the conversation was i did not get away with the switch, i have been caught.I now have great disdain for Best Buy and the managers they place in position in there stores.I really question the wisdom of someone from a corporate office who is well insullated from the customers and the store personel to be the only contact to resolve disgusted premiere silver customers BestBuy issues.The program of inadaquate inventory for advertised circular items is the norm for BestBuy and is unexceptable.The axiom "when in business be in business" still holds true.I wish you the best and the companys like BestBuy who put forward a suedo representation of customer care."

"I was not sure what kind of laptop to buy so I went and did some research for over 2 weeks until I finally decided on this one.I looked online for a good deal and this was the far best deal that I could come across.I purchased this laptop at best buy and for the one month that I have been using it I really like it.This is my first ever laptop and now I can safely say that I don't regret buying this one.I have always heard that Toshiba was a good brand but now I think I can say that it really is."
